Antony Arvan

Antony was born and bred in Bloemfontein, South Africa, and after  graduating from the University of Cape Town, qualified as an attorney in 1992, following in the tradition of both his grandfather and father. He is currently a director of Maurice Phillips |Wisenberg, who he joined in 2000. 

His specialty is in dispute resolution, specifically in relation to commercial, property, and construction-related disputes through the courts and through arbitration. He has a keen interest and experience in heritage-related disputes. He was also a member of the Ministerial Appeal Tribunal, Ministry of Cultural Affairs & Sport, Western Cape Government

He was a part-time lecturer at Varsity College for approximately 10 years, teaching LLB students. 

Besides practicing as an attorney, Antony is also an arbitrator and member of the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa).

In his free time, Antony loves reading, history, hiking, watching movies (only at the Labia), Liverpool FC, any form of cultural enlightenment, wine routing, entertaining & just trying to get the balance right. 

He was reared in the arts and his mother Maxine was awarded the Fleur Du Cap life-time achievement to theatre.
