Why should I become an AVA member?
The very first members of the AVA founded the organization at a meeting in 1850. We have been proudly welcoming members through our doors even since! Being an AVA member means being part of a 170-year long legacy of art lovers coming together to celebrate South African Art.
As a proudly democratic institution, the AVA values your voice. Every member of the AVA is invited to attend our AGMs, where we vote new board members in and make plans for a bigger and better Association. By attending and voting you, as AVA member, help guide us to better serve the arts community.
Being a member is also a great opportunity to get involved. We are a small team so we welcome members’ support. Whether you want to become an active board member or get involved as a volunteer on busy opening nights we are always on the lookout for a helping hand.
