Claudia Shneider and Errico Cassar - A Duet By Four Hands

Enrrico and Claudia.jpg

Long-time friends and colleagues, Errico Cassar and Claudia Shneider, met during art school and have influenced and cross-pollinated each other’s creative thinking. However, they have never collaborated until this exhibition.

"A Duet by Two Hands" showcases both drawings, paintings and "installative sculptures" by Shneider and jewellery pieces and tableware by Cassar.

Cassar’s work draws on his vast knowledge of current and historic art and design. Focusing on creating jewellery as a wearable art form, Cassar combines precious materials with ordinary objects such as sweet wrappers or marrow bones to create unique pieces which prize shapes, textures, form and colour over monetary value.

Alongside Cassar's work, Shneider will showcase her figurative work that draws inspiration from current issues relating to environment and politics. Her message is always direct and playfully critical – easily read and understood by all. With her more abstract works Shneider is concerned with more formal questions, exploring form and colour, and how the idea (head) materialises (via the hand) into the result (sometimes more unexpected than planned).

Opening 6pm on 21 November 2019.
